Steps for submitting the entitled and approval pages

  1. Once the e-thesis file of the student has been approved by the MUGR officer, the student will receive an email notification indicating the completion of the verification process. The student should proceed to prepare the entitled and approval pages to be submitted for the endorsement of the Dean of MUGR.
  1. The student can personally submit the documents to the MUGR officer at the One Stop Service room on the 1st floor, of the MUGR building. Alternatively, the department officer can handle the document submission on behalf of the students or through postal mail.
  1. Once the Dean has signed the documents, the MUGR officer will scan and upload all the documents to the e-thesis system. The student will receive an email notification from the system, indicating the completion of the process, and should contact the MUGR officer to collect the documents."

Answer

Signatures may be digital, electronic, handwritten, or a combination in the student's PDF file, depending on each lecturer's convenience. If mixed methods are used, the handwritten signatories should sign last. A hard copy of the signed pages may be submitted after completion of the e-Thesis process without additional penalties and without affecting GR.5 graduation submission. The signature-page process completes the e-Thesis record.

Answer

The fine is calculated based on the date the student submits the file into the system with approval from the program (advisor and program chair), provided it is not rejected by them. The advisor/program chair may approve after the due date. Example: due date 20/2/66, student submits on 19/2/66, program approves on 25/2/66. FGS treats 19/2/66 as the submission date, which is still within the 21-day deadline, so no late fine applies. No additional fine is calculated while the file is being reviewed or corrected by FGS staff.

Use 'References' for science theses/thematic papers and 'Bibliography' for social-science theses/thematic papers. Common in-text citation systems are: 1) author-date, 2) numerical, and 3) footnote. Once a system is chosen, use it consistently throughout the thesis. For the References/Bibliography section, use alphabetical order (APA style) when the author-date system is used, and numerical order (Vancouver style) when the numerical system is used.
