The Faculty was officially established on 4 February 1964 and has continued to evolve by connecting knowledge, research and innovation across diverse disciplines.

28 March and 12 September 1962
The University of Medical Sciences Council approved the proposal to establish the Faculty of Graduate Studies, followed by endorsement from the National Education Council.
4 February 1964
The Faculty of Graduate Studies was formally established by Royal Decree under the University of Medical Sciences, building upon graduate education that had begun in the 1962 academic year.
Building graduate education foundations
The early mission focused on specialist medical training and preparing faculty members for medicine, dentistry and pharmacy, particularly in basic medical sciences, while advancing medical and public health research.
Academic collaboration
Support from the Rockefeller Foundation strengthened teaching in medical sciences at the Faculty of Science. English-medium curricula also welcomed international learners.
Continuous development
The Faculty continues to evolve across a broad range of disciplines, supporting the quality and administration of graduate education throughout Mahidol University.
