Overview
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the post-2015 global development objectives ratified by 193 United Nations member states, serving as a framework for national development consisting of three critical elements: economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental protection.
To promote and support the advancement of sustainable development efforts, the Faculty of Graduate Studies at Mahidol University has established the Outstanding Thesis Awards that promote the university's SDGs policies for the fiscal year 2024.
This award is dedicated to graduate students whose publication work responds to national and regional SDGs policy initiatives.
Eligibility
- Must be a Mahidol University graduate student whose thesis proposal has been approved by the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
- The thesis can be written in either English or Thai.
- The thesis must clearly address Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and demonstrate a connection to at least 2 out of the 5 dimensions (5Ps) as follows:
- People (Social Dimension) : Covers Goals 1 to 5.
- Prosperity (Economic Dimension) : Covers Goals 7 to 11.
- Planet (Environmental Dimension) : Covers Goal 6 and Goals 12 to 15.
- Peace (Peace and Institutions Dimension) : Covers Goal 16.
- Partnership (Partnerships for Development Dimension) : Covers Goal 17.
Timeline
Students may apply for the award in two ways:
- Submit the required documents in person at the Student Affairs and Network Development Office, 1st Floor, Faculty of Graduate Studies.
- Submit the documents electronically via the E-Document System within the application period specified by the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

Required documents
Applicants must complete the application form for the Outstanding SDG Policy-Driven Thesis Award by providing the following information:
- Students in international programs must provide the information in English.
- Students in standard programs must provide the information in either English or Thai.
Applicants are required to attach the following files:
- One set of the thesis abstract in English and one set in Thai (if available).
- A Word and PDF file summarizing the thesis of the award applicant, A4 size, not exceeding 5 pages.

Incomplete applications or failure to submit the required documents listed in Items 1)-2) will result in disqualification from the scholarship.
