Additional advantages of the programme

our program is the first Ph.D. program focusing on translational medicine in Thailand. The program aims to decompartmentalize the traditional research training, where basic scientists are not generally trained to think of the clinical application of their work, and clinicians are often not taught to formulate research studies based on clinical observations. To achieve this, the students will be mentored by both scientists and clinicians to provide the opportunity to focus on the translation of scientific discoveries into the application of diagnosis, prognosis prediction, therapies and cures of human diseases. The curriculum offers a broad exposure to clinical medicine in multidisciplinary fashion in order to fit best with the interest, background and requirement of each student, as well as a strong foundation of knowledge in research design, methodology, and skill in writing proposal for competitive research funding. In addition, medicalrelated emerging fields such as pharmacogenomics, personalized medicine, and bioengineering etc., are open for those students who are interested in such area

Job Option after Graduation

Graduating with a Ph.D. in Translational Medicine can lead to highly specialized and influential career opportunities in various sectors of the medical and healthcare fields. Individuals with a Ph.D. in Translational Medicine have extensive knowledge and expertise in bridging the gap between basic research and clinical applications, making them valuable contributors to medical advancements. Some potential job opportunities for individuals with a Ph.D. in Translational Medicine include:

- Translational Medicine Scientist: This is the most common job title for individuals with a Ph.D. in Translational Medicine. Translational Medicine Scientists work at pharmaceutical companies, academic institutions, and government agencies to bridge the gap between basic research and clinical practice. They can lead and conduct research to develop new drug therapies, diagnostic tests, and medical devices.
- Principal Investigator: Principal Investigators (PIs) are the leaders of research teams. They are responsible for designing and conducting research studies, securing funding, and publishing their findings.
- Professor: Professors teach and conduct research at academic institutions. They are responsible for developing and delivering courses, mentoring students, and conducting research.
- Director of Translational Medicine: Directors of Translational Medicine are responsible for overseeing the translational medicine program at an academic institution or pharmaceutical company. They are responsible for setting the strategic direction of the program, securing funding, and ensuring that the program is meeting its goals.
- Consultant: Consultants provide advice and expertise to pharmaceutical companies, academic institutions, and government agencies. They work on a variety of projects, such as designing clinical trials, developing new drug therapies, and conducting regulatory affairs. These are just a few of the many jobs that graduates can get with a Ph.D. in Translational Medicine. The specific job titles and duties will vary depending on the specific employer and your own interests and skills.
