First Prize, Postgraduate Research Competition 2015

Miss Prana Shakya, a master’s student in the International Master of Science Program in Dentistry, majoring in Maxillofacial Prosthetics, Faculty of Dentistry, received first prize in the 2015 postgraduate research competition for the study “Protective Effects of Oryza sativa L. on Fluorouracil-Induced Oral Mucositis.” The competition was held on 27 August 2015 by the Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University. Her principal advisor was Assistant Professor Dr. Saranya Tancharoen.

Outstanding Graduate Research Oral Presentation Award

Mr. Nattapol Tassanavichitwong, a master’s student in Biochemistry, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, received the Outstanding Graduate Research Oral Presentation Award in the master’s degree Biological Sciences category. His research was “STAT3-mediated Mcl-1 protein expression involves in gemcitabine sensitivity in human cholangiocarcinoma cells.” The award was presented at the 34th National Graduate Research Conference, hosted by Khon Kaen University on 27 March 2015.

Good-Level Family Studies Thesis Award

Dr. Phattaraphan Thamdee, a doctoral student in Medical and Health Social Sciences, received a Good-Level Family Studies Thesis Award for “Life Choices Conducive to Never-Married Women’s Illness under the ‘Husk’ of Modernity.” The award was presented at the 2014 National Family Studies Conference, held on 16–17 June 2014 at Prince Palace Hotel, Bangkok.

Ms. Nareerut Fueangchuchat, a master’s student in Medical and Health Social Sciences, received an Honorable Mention for her family studies thesis “HIV Infection in Married Women: The Socialist Feminism Perspective.” The recognition was presented at the 2014 National Family Studies Conference in Bangkok.

Best Paper Award

Ms. Petcharat Netmuey, a master’s student in Medical and Health Social Sciences, received the Best Paper Award for her thesis “The Unwanted Pregnancy among Thai Teen Mom: A Feminist Perspective” at the Burapha University International Conference 2014, “Global Warming and Its Impacts,” held on 3–4 July 2014 at Dusit Thani Pattaya, Chonburi. The work was also published in Global Education Magazine.

Outstanding Oral Presentation Award

Mr. Chanon Kowsupat, a doctoral student at the Institute for Innovative Learning, Mahidol University, received the Outstanding Oral Presentation Award for research on animals entitled “New Species of Bubble-Nesting Siamese Fighting Fish.” The award was presented at the 3rd Conference on Taxonomy and Systematics in Thailand on 13 May 2013 at Chulalongkorn University.

First Prize, Graduate Thesis Competition of the Development Administration Network 2012

Mr. Chanaphon Chaiyap, a master’s student in Public Administration, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Mahidol University, received first prize in the 2012 Graduate Thesis Competition of the Development Administration Network. His thesis was “Psychological Sufficiency, Sufficiency Organization, Work Happiness, Organizational Support, and Organizational Citizenship Behavior: A Case Study of the Department of Corrections.” The award was presented on 7 September 2012 at the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA).
