Extension of GRID Courses Registration Periods: February to May 2023. (Semester 2 Academic year 2022) (Online)

The Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University, offers English classes to graduate students of Mahidol University who are interested in taking English courses in compliance with the English Proficiency Admission Standard during February to May 2023. (Semester 2 Academic year 2022) (Online)

GRID course reservation and registration periods are scheduled as follows.

Announcement of Eligible Students 9 January 2023
Registration Period 9 - 20 January 2023
Fee Payment Deadline 10 February 2023 (before 10.00 p.m.)
(The Applicant is required to pay within the due date; otherwise, he/she is unable to attend the class. No refund can be claimed in any cases.)
Interested students can apply for the mentioned courses from 22 December 2022 – 2 January 2023.

  • a TOEFL iBT score below than 32-40 or
  • a TOEFL ITP score below than 400-434 or
  • The MU GRAD TEST score of  36-43
 The student must take

GRID 515 Speaking and Writing in Academic Contexts for Graduate  Studies

  • a TOEFL iBT score of 32-40 or
  • a TOEFL ITP score of 400-434 or
  • The MU Test score of 31-37
 The student must take
Group 1:
GRID 514 Reading and Writing in Academic Contexts for Graduate Studies and
GRID 515 Speaking and Writing in Academic Contexts for Graduate Studies or

Group 2: GRID 530 English Academic Writing I and GRID 531 English Academic Writing II (two courses in total).

The student must pass the aforementioned courses before the examination of their thesis defense.
A student who has
  • an IELTS score below than 3 or
  • a TOEFL iBT score below than 32 or
  • a TOEFL ITP score below than 400 or
  • The MU Test score below than 31
 The student must take
Group 1:
GRID 517 Essential English Grammar for Graduate Studies and
GRID 514 Reading and Writing in Academic Contexts for Graduate Studies and
GRID 515 Speaking and Writing in Academic Contexts for Graduate Studies or

Group 2:
GRID 517 Essential English Grammar for Graduate Studies and
GRID 530 English Academic Writing I and
GRID 531 English Academic Writing II and either
(three courses in total).

The student must pass the aforementioned courses before the examination of their thesis defense.

Remarks

2. The number of students in each class is limited. However, the opening of the mentioned classes depends on the number of students who has already registered and settled the payment.

3. Registration fee

  • 2.1 GRID 514, GRID 515, GRID 516, and GRID 517: 1,800 baht per credit (5,400 baht per course)
  • 2.2 GRID 530, GRID 531, GRID 532, and GRID 533: 4,000 baht per credit (12,000 baht per course)
  • 2.3 GRID 537: 4,000 baht per credit (8,000 baht per course)
