International Symposium on Neuroscience and Global Health 2018 at the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital

On 7th August 2018, the International Symposium on Neuroscience and Global Health 2018 was held at the meeting room 101 on the first floor of the ChalermPrakiet Building (His Majesty the King's 80th Birthday Anniversary, 5th December 2007 Building) by the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital. Professor Dr. Prasert Assantachai, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, delivered a welcome speech for this conference. In this international symposium, there were lectures on several topics which included:

  • Mathematical 3D modeling of water movement in the brain clinical implications by Professor Dr. Med. Ole Petter Ottersen, M.D., Ph.D.

  • Pathophysiological consequence of loss of astrocyte polarity: The case of Aquaporin-4 by Professor Dr. Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, M.D., Ph.D.

  • Microscopic Study of Alzheimer's Disease: Abnormal amyloid drainage in the brain, implications for Alzheimer's disease by Associate Professor Dr. Reidun Torp, M.Sc., Ph.D.

  • Future Trends of Global Health: Sustainability and equity by Dr. Med. Ole Petter Ottersen, M.D., Ph.D.

  • Parkinson's disease: A possible role of the aquaglyceroporin AQP9 in Parkinson's disease by Professor Dr. Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, M.D., Ph.D.
