On 2nd August 2018, Mahidol University set up the event "Mahidol – Mother's Day" at the Office of the President, Mahidol University to honour HM Queen Sirikit on the auspicious occasion of the queen's 86th birthday anniversary and to celebrate Mother's Day.
On this occasion, HM Princess Soamsavali attended the event and gave awards to "best mothers – best personnel", "diligent mothers", "100-year-old mothers" and "environment-friendly mothers". Other activities included an exhibition of HM Queen Sirikit, an academic exhibition and health examination services. The Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University also participated in this event by setting up an exhibition of "Life-long Learning for Essential Development of the 21st Century and Beyond" at the Professor Dr. Chatchwan Osathanon Meeting Room, the Office of the President, Mahidol, Salaya.
